Samorost: What's going on?

So I just got done playing 6-7 levels of Samorost 1. I must say I really don't know what's going on. However, I do admire the scenery and the format of this game. It's almost like playing Where's Waldo, looking for anywhere to click. The game probably takes a bit more thinking, but I just keep clicking whatever I can to see what happens. So in that sense, I suppose there is a sense of mystery on this alien planet. All the sounds and alien music really add a nice touch to the game. On the other hand, the squirrel in the tree with the music player kind of freaked me out. So if I were to describe this game in one sentence, it'd definitely be "strange." Partly adventurous and mysterious but more so strange. It really does make me feel like I'm on an alien planet though. I like the idea of using your surroundings in order to escape. I've never really been a fan of puzzle games, but I like a challenge every now and then--- as well as some sci-fi. Very interesting, to say the least.

The squirrel puzzle was easily my favorite. Ingenious stuff! I guess it's cool when you have to solve something aurally, especially when we've been trained to mostly respond visually to games.

I've played a game much harder than Samorost with the same sort of concept, find some way to the next part in the conundrum of a scenery in front of you. The game is called Mysteries of Time and Space (MOTAS). I've never beaten it (particularly because I suck at lights out games >.<).
