Samorost Game?
I just finished playing Samorost and I have to say, it's definitely not one of my favorite games. First of, the graphics creeped me out. I am a huge fan of Nintendo games and the whole bright colors and having everything be all nice, pretty and well defined, so Samorost was a big jump. Tumors in the space* aren't exactly my cup of tea. There were a few characters that were animated but had people's face and that honestly scares me. (Hence not a fan of the Annoying Orange* nor the old Quizno Subs commercials with the weird little rats*) The music was kind of eerie so that didn't help. There were absolutely no instructions on what to do (not that anyone reads instructions) except for arrows which I later found out they tell you which way the little guy needs to go so that added to the frustration of the game.
I guess the aesthetics bothered me so much that I had a hard time appreciating the game itself. Going back and looking beyond the aesthetics of the game, it really is a very creative and original game. The graphics are really good, just not necessarily my taste. It is sort of a puzzle game, which is the reason why I kept playing to the end (that and the fact I had already invested too much time into the game to not see what happens at the end). I also have to mention that I may have "cheated" by just rolling my mouse all over the screen until the arrow turned into a hand and clicked. In most levels, I got lucky by clicking around and that solved the puzzle. It wasn't all bad since there were a few levels I did like where I figured out the puzzle, such as the owl level and final level. Also, I can appreciate that it truly is an interactive game in that it makes the user feel like he/she did all the work to save the little guy's home or planet or whatever you're supposed to save.

I found it to be a pretty cool game, you actually got kind of connected to the guy you were guiding around. I remember when I got to the part where my guy got sucked up by the anteater, I was almost worried though there was no character development.
I have to say though, it did make me curious about the sequel that google search suggested, but it turned out to be a p2p thing so i said "forget it."
