The Wilderness Downtown In Paris, France

Arcade Fire's "The Wilderness Downtown" was a cool experience the first time I tried it. The birds flitting from window to window, the trees exploding into life, the spinning street view of my home. The imagery and music combined for a satisfying five minutes. Then I thought, what's better than running through me home neighborhood? Running through famous landmarks, of course!

Unfortunately, the Lincoln Memorial or other DC landmarks did not have available street views. However, the Eiffel Tower had full content. Swooping through above the streets of Paris was pretty and spinning around in front of the Eiffel Tower was pretty awesome.

In terms of interactive storytelling, the Wilderness Downtown seems to be successful. By including our choice of address (specifically, that of our childhood home), it allows us to interact with the experience. Using computer generated imagery, music, and innovative applications of Google products the Wilderness Downtown manages to evoke the story of growing up and moving on/running forward.

I wish it didn't crash Firefox, though. I have enough Google products in my life without using their browser as well.
