Is there love in the telematic embrace? Roy Ascott

I was pleased to read Roy Ascott's "Is there love in the telematic embrace?". Ascott's extension of where all this cyberconnectivity is leading our society does, in my mind, parallel the ideas of a kind of spiritual enlightenment that his article postulates.

The sort of wonderment and awe that are experienced by co-creating a spectacle which no longer has a specific "author" begins to awaken us to the reality, on an experiential level, that we are all connected to each other. Monks and Gurus have been practicing meditation for thousands of years to promote the understanding of connectivity; it will be truly remarkable to see if augmented reality does in fact, act as a catalyst to help us gain this understanding.
