Roy Ascott's Is there love in the telematic embrace?
I loved Roy Ascott's article because it showed me that the best way to be connected with others around the world is through virtual networks. The part of the article that influenced me the most was the way he defined telematic art. Because he defines telematic art as "the product of interaction between the observer and the system," it is an art that resulted from our society rather than one artist. Though the question comes to mind: How can art result from interacting with a computer? According to what I've read, telematics is not just a one person job. It is the production of global vision that keeps networks of different cultures flowing everyday. If it wasn't for telematic culture, we would still only have technology that we rarely use nowadays.
