Group 3 story ideas
Due to some confusion, here is my story once again for my group for the project that we are working on.
Note: Story features 3 ships --->
1)Exploration Team (ship that is being explored)
2)Alien ship (never seen, only importance is that an alien was brought onboard, and the shield that was used, in the story, to rip apart the ship).
3) Recovery crew (the ship is most likely never seen, except maybe the briefing room. The crew members are the players of the story).
TimeLine:
1)Exploration ship gets SOS from unidentified ship
2)Exploration ship gets to area to only find wreckage of other ship.
3)ship finds one alien survivor
4)While alien is in sickbay, crew members search for any more survivors. Meanwhile data of alien is reported (physiology of alien).
5)Alien wakes up, escapes sickbay, goes to kitchen and makes sandwich (ham, pickle, and chocolate sandwich).
6)Alien tells what caused explosion (science experiment), asks to be dropped off at home planet.
7)Crew prepares jump to warp, alien ship destroys shield powers up due to engine radiation.
8)Alien ship's shield rips apart majority of ship.
9) Ship crash lands on planet. 8 crew members survived, rest (42) died.
10) Alien, knowing planet, takes survivors underground to podplants which help heal the body.
11)As crew are healing, alien works on repairing ship (while guarding pods from predators).
12) Alien sends SOS to crews home planet.
13) Rescue squad (the players) reach planet 10 days after crash.
Purposed rooms and ideas:
-Sickbay with claw marks and data file showing alien physiology (long arms, sharp claws, hunched over, glowing eyes, tentacles, fangs, thin).
-pod room with "crew members" in them (looks like crew in stasis/ being digested)
-bridge showing claw marks
-rooms with blood on them (from ship exploding)
-corrupted data files (describing the alien eating the sandwich:
"...alien.. tracked down in the mess hall.......multiple....scattered around everywhere.....eating....meat.....on his tentacles than in his mouth.....extremely hungry.....lost control.....smell....
message corrupted"
which in acutality was:
"The alien was tracked down in the mess hall, making itself a sandwich. It ended up making a huge mess to its long claws, with multiple of food being scattered around everywhere. After a close look, it was eating a meat sandwich, most likely ham, but with the most unusual toppings of pickles and chocolate sauce, with most of the food on his tentacles than in his mouth. He apologized for the rash exit from sickbay, stating that he was extremely hungry and lost control when he smelled the delicacies in our kitchen."
-pathways being constructed and doors being able to open due to teamwork (mainly switches)
-data and pictures can be given/showed to a player by text on the screen, or notecards and images(textures) being given to a player.
-communication room that can save a message for the future.
And that is what I have come up with so far. So what do you guys think?
Comments
There seems to be some confusion, so I will go straight to the point. First of all this seems to be the work of only one individual, not the work of a team (correct me if I am wrong).
From what I can read it has taken the shape of a linear story or film with very little possibility of having the participants take decisions that could alter the story.
Apart from that, production-wise I must insist that you put your feet in the ground and realize that there are only 5 weeks left which is very little time to attempt to satisfactorily create even a fraction of what you propose.
I would like to encourage the team to increase your personal participation and try to solve together the problem of an "interactive storytelling" scenario. And to make it as simple as possible while still fulfilling the task.
Less is more:-)

1. I was thinking maybe we could take a story that is well-known to the public and alter it to build a more realistic connection between the characters and the outside observers. The story could be digitally told and the artwork doesn't require complicated designs. Consider kids drawings with stick figures. The animator vs animation game is a good example.
2. What if a story is told, but the author received feedback from the characters? Or the readers idea changes what the character does. Recall the fairy tale "Sleeping Beauty". She pricks her finger on the spindle and falls into a deep sleep. What if the words read "she touches the spindle," but then the character decides that she does not want to touch it because it is sharp. Or the reader thinks "No, no, don't touch it" and the character doesn't or does. The character would interact with the reader and/or animator/author.
