MMO
So I know we've talked about big things online like World of Warcraft, Second Life and all of that stuff, but we never really talked about the text-based MMO's. I don't know if any of you ever played them, but those are basically what the majority of facebook games are. You know, games like mafia wars, like street wars, etc. I don't know if any of you ever played it or heard about it, but there was actually one of these games that was competitive among users and also had virtual forums and what not. The game I am talking about is called Warbook. I am slightly embarrassed about it being such a big part of my life at one time, but I don't regret it at all. I actually made a lot of friends through this game, met a lot of interesting people and learned a lot about time management, much like you would in those complex 3d MMO's.

So yeah, back to Warbook. It was really interesting exactly how involved people got with this. For example, there were actually Warbook weddings, believe it or not. People held weddings for their characters in the forums and invited other "forum whores" to drop in. I eventually received a status as a forum whore, not sure whether or not to be proud about that... Aaaanyway, I just figured I'd mention this, because I thought it was something worth mentioning, simply because it shows how you don't actually need the graphics for a game to work out. Millions of users, literally millions, gave away their social lives to Warbook because it required so much dedication, particularly if you were running an alliance. So if you have no clue what Warbook is but you're intrigued, feel free to check it out. It's not hard to find, you just type Warbook into your facebook search. The only thing is, the game has lost its luster. None of the forum whores are there anymore, none of the major players are there... It's been that way for a couple years now. It was good for a while, now it sucks because of crappy developer changes and what not. But by all means, look at it if you want. I suppose it's still interactive.
