Thinking is hard.

I'm trying to put ideas together to develop a project that I can realistically do in 5 weeks.. I'm also going to explore Pd and other data capture software more to get ideas for user interaction.

Here are a couple things I want to pull from.

This is a sort of interactive poetry game I found on the experimental gameplay blog.
I liked the way actions were represented with the text. I want to incorporate something similar possibly using something other than mouse clicking as input to change paths.

A game I enjoyed as a kid was a Super nintendo game by Enix called EVO. The gameplay was extremely simple, background designs were basic. What made it unique for the time is that you could change your creatures morphology in parts. The characteristics you chose and not only determined how you played but what story paths you were allowed to go.

How would any of this affect my project? I guess it would be a focus on a single character, whose color, size, etc you could change with a input. Maybe sound, touch , temperature etc. Then give each possible combination a defined path with some turns, essentially a very short standard game.

I totally played EVO!! but not as a kid I played it like two years ago on my friends hacked xbox. It was so awesome even than in like 2008. I really like your idea! perhaps it doesn't have to be a game maybe it could be more like a fish bowl, like your character could be kinda ameoba like and maybe as you add inputs as you suggested through temperature, sound, touch, etc... the character could morph, grow, and change. I could see arduino and processing being valid tools for achieving this goal and i'm sure with your electrical engineering background wouldn't be difficult to get into. Anyways cool idea and let me know if I can help!
