Project

After several days without success, I finally was able to find a floor plan of Kensington Palace. The plan was in a book published in 1908. I have read part of the book and it seems to be fairly useful. The author describes the restoration of Kensington Palace at the beginning of the 20th century as well as the contents in each room. I'm almost done measuring the rooms, which is going to be useful for putting the environment together. I'm feeling a lot more comfortable with making the interactivity apart the building because I now have something more concrete idea of the spaces.

Also, I have been thinking about if there is a way that people who have physical disabilities may be able to experience the story. It may be outside the scope of this project, but I believe it's good to at least consider this.

I have been going through the textbook that Pat recommended: Pause & Effect. It's definitely worth looking at so far at least. It seems to be more design oriented more visual than A Book of Lenses.

I think that's a great idea. Especially the idea that people with disabilities can experience places and spaces that they wouldn't have access to in other circumstances. That could develop into something really great- like a program that allowed physically disabled children and adults to virtually "travel" to historical places and landmarks. Keep up the good work. Eager to see what comes of it. c;
