Electronic Informed Consent for Research: Mockup


Here's a mockup for my "Multimediafication of Informed Consent Forms". I hope it helps people better understand what I'm trying to do. It still has A TON of edits to go through but I'd love to hear your input.I also have some ideas that are better told then written so I hope I'll get a chance to fill you guys in.

Definitely a great start. In my opinion I don't know if you really need to change much as far as layout. I really like the drawn/cartoon aesthetic because i feel it serves multiple purposes, 1) it feels personal; draws people in like maybe it was made for them 2) its disarming; cartoon less alarming than real person getting blood drawn etc..
3) it breaks your frame; if it were just another perfectly rectangular slick layout with stock photos of med patients it would look like any other website, institutional form etc... and I know I at least would be more inclined to glaze over it
4) Cartoons can be inhabited; the more anonymous a cartoon is the more easily we can project our own egos/selves into it.

However, that's only my opinion and I think you should still try alternate layouts, some with real photos, some slicker, etc.. just to make sure you are making the right choice.
