A Thorough Walkthrough of Beauty and the Beast 1946

What is great about this story is the main intro (as previously stated in class) children generally believe what we tell them

The plot sets up with the wicked sisters 

The comic relief, their brother points out that in reality everyone is making fun of them 

The brother again talking to the sisters (Medium Shot)

I really liked this shot because it shows a clear hierarchy the father is sitting at the head of the table in charge but the real person in charge of this story is belle who is standing above him. 

Belle is sitting on the bottom another great hierachy shot where the sisters tower over her on the top right. Belle knows that with her father gone she will be tormented by them 

The father promising Belle the rose steals it from the Beasts garden and instead of killing the father offers him a chance to have one of his three daughters (Belle, the other sisters wouldn't care if he died) to take his place. This is a great shot because it shows that the beast is in control and displays hierarchy and power over the father) 

Belle discovers the beast and faints, This is a great image because it appears as if she is behind bars trying to escape but just cant make it, it appears as if he is keeping her there against her will, a very interesting picture. Its as if you are looking into a prison cell.

I really liked the heavy lighting in this picture it created a dark overtone 

She refuses to acknowledge or look at him, setting the scene for further interactions between him and her. 

The beast gets kicked out of belles room(the look of sorrow on his face)...

Medium Shot 

The beast learns the name of the man Belle loves and fleas (this princes name makes him upset and hurt) This is due to the fact that he too was a prince and if he could show her that through his hideous looks maybe he could have belle.

The beast is dying and is (on fire...)

He vanishes into the door this shot was really good because he starts disappearing into the darkness. This could imply hope is loss because belle still does not want to see or talk to him.

The Beast gives Belle the key if she does not bring the key back he will die, it is filled with riches and treasure which mean nothing to Belle.

Total Jekyll and Hyde reference...duality of man

The beautiful necklace rots in her hands because she is truly wicked and not deserving of anything 

The Beast misses Belle and grabs her blanket for comfort. 

Belle sees that the Beast is dying from her home and sets off (transports) to help him (against the wishes of her sisters)

The Brother and Avenant Steal the key from Belle and set out stealing Magnificent the horse set for Belle to return to steal the treasures from the beast (I love the lighting on the characters in this shot)

Diana (a statue) comes to life and shoots Avenant by shooting him with her arrow he turns into the beast (Dianais the godess of the hunt and able to talk to animals similar to Artemis)

Once Avenant is turned into a beast the Beast becomes a prince again.

Notes on The Movie

There is this conflict its appears o be very much like Cinderella where belle is stuck in the house with two ungrateful sisters who wish to have all the luxuries in the world while here sister belle is home cleaning

Avenant wants to marry belle she does not like him and refuses to marry him

I HAVE A GOOD HEART BUT I AM A MONSTER

There are men for more monstrous than you though they conceal it well

This quote happens at 39:02 when they are sitting at the dinning room table

The whole movie she is sneaking around the house

Belle seems to progressively get nicer clothing and attire throughout the whole movie

Belle starts waiting for beast shes starts to miss him

Is beast's name avenaunt? He seemed very upset by hearing that name

The beast starts disappearing into the door

Beast allows her to leave and come back in a week

Diana's pavillion- no one may enter he gives her the key to the pavillon and says no one may enter only with a golden key and he hands her the golden key (this is the ultimate test of trust)

The time is different it is night in the beatss world

One half of him is at constant struggle with the other half (103)

Belle cries diamond for the beast

Belle tries giving the necklace to her sister and it turns to rot

The sisters want to get belle in trouble for witnessing magic

If I were a man I could get up but since I am a beast all I can do is grovel and die
