UF Alert

We all got an email talking about how the University will be testing the emergency text message system. This relates to our project of reaching out to everyone through different networks. I just found it ironic.
Chris Crawford says that "digital" does not mean "interactive". He explains how the computer is a tool for creating videos or games, but it doesn't necessarily alter the story. But it think that depending on what you are doing on the computer, or what game, it can be altered. Our social network projected is very interactive, because everyone contributes to the blog. You can input your own information which may or may not change, or disprove the following information that was posted.

I think what he means is it is not the tool that creates the interactivity per se, but the structure of the story that allows for such interaction and modification by the user. But of course is undeniable that the computer and the way we communicate through it has made us think about this in a very different way. It is through interactivity of the mouse for example that we are able to change what happens on the screen at all times, from "simple" navigation to actual modification of files.
