In the weird vein

STELARC is one of my favorite performance artists and although pain is inevitable in most of his work I don't think there is any emphasis in that aspect and in that respect I believe is different from what Marina Abramovic does, but in both cases it is evident that they go beyond body limitations in what could be considered normal,

Stelarc treats the body more as an sculptural medium or a point of departure for a cybernetic being, not only integrating it with mechanical contraptions (like his third arm piece) but also with biological modifications like the ear on arm.
