War Horse

I think this is so relevant to anyone trying to make a believable animation or simply to bring something to life!. Since I am a puppeteer myself and have worked with giant puppets I can tell you how extraordinarily good this guys are in an understated kind of way. The way they manipulate the puppet goes back a very long way into the traditional Japanese art form called Bunraku.

The horse's movement is incredible! I live on a horse farm so I'm around the animals all the time. They really nailed the horse's behavior and movements. It's amazing how the three operators work in synch without saying a word to each other!

This is absolutely amazing. It really shows how beautiful puppetry can be when puppets are highly functional and not just very superficially beautiful.
